The 2019 MG Racing Australia calendar is nearly locked down with just one date to be confirmed for next season.
Coming off a strong season in 2018 the series headlines again at two VHRR events, the Festival of Speed and Sandown Historic which will be the 28th instalment next year. On top of that the season will again kick off at Sandown Park in Melbourne at the start of March before the picturesque Phillip Island facility will take the second round before the series heads to Sydney mid year.
Captain Paul Vernall commented that it’s a very good looking calendar in 2019, “I think when you look at the circuits and events we are going to, it’s a very good looking year. Kicking off at Sandown at the MG car club run event, we are going to 4 different circuits including a first ever visit to Sydney Motorsport Park mid year, Winton and Phillip Island and finish the year off at the always enjoyable Sandown Historic. I think it’s a very good looking calendar with a good spread of dates to allow people to get to each event and some good breaks to recover”
The series also confirmed that bonus points would be on offer for the third round in Sydney to help support those interstate competitors travelling up.
VSCRC representative Jim Dodd commended the SRS on putting a better spread of dates, “the dates at the start of the year are nicely spread to encourage participation and we should thank them for their recognition of the feedback. We are just waiting on a Winton date from SRS to decide if we commit to that”.
The calendar will see a good selection of dates across the year
