Bathurst Winning Jaguar joins the field

The car that won the 1985 Bathurst 1000 for Tom Walkinshaw Racing will join the field at Sandown.

Car owner Michael Roddy has campaigned the car primarily in historic racing but due to a lack of opportunity in 2020 sought to have a run in Invited British Sportscars. The car was built by TWR for the 1984 ETCC season and won the 1984 Spa 24 Hour before competing in Germany, Austria, Italy, Great Britain and even the Macau GP. In 1985 it came to Australia and won the Bathurst 1000 before heading off to Japan and NZ in 1986.

“Michael approached us to have a run, and a car of this calibre is something we should enjoy, when it comes to ‘British Sportscars’ then a V12, 2 door, rear wheel drive Jaguar is as British as it gets and Michael knows how to drive it” commented Invited British Sportscar liaison Keith Ondarchie.
