David Anderson was awarded the 2019 MG Racing Clubman award at the end of year celebration. Anderson helped shape 2019 as one of the best season in recent times and the sporting behaviour stood out throughout the year.
Captain Paul Vernall announced Anderson and explained the reasoning, “Dave has done so much, not always in front of people or to fanfare, but he offered to tow cars to Sydney if it helped entrants get there, as it turned out it got two more entrants, he offered a fellow competitor an engine free of charge to keep him racing during the year, and helped repair fellow competitors including his championship protagonists to keep them on track, always happy to lend a hand and get in and dirty. This and much more has helped shape our success and makes him a very deserving champion”.
David Anderson commented he was extremely surprised to get the award, “it blows me away, I don’t do any of it for recognition and I do it for the series. It’s such a great place, the people, the camaraderie, the sponsors, the friendship and passion. I can’t wait for 2020. Thank you to the committee and all my fellow racers”
Fellow competitors supported the award including fellow Group S competitors, “he really has got involved and helped rebuild the Group S numbers and its great to see him enjoying it” commented Darren Souter.
David Anderson joins fellow recent recipients, Jim Robertson, Jim Dodd, Sean Herlihy, and Ryan Lednar
