Howell returns in factory built ZR for Round 2

2014 MG champion Andrew Howell makes his to MG Racing Australia at the Phillip Island Apartments Round 2 for 2018.  After sitting out 2017 Howell is excited to make a return to competition in May.

“It has been too long, but the budget wasn’t there so we didn’t get out last year”, Howell has been managing campaigns across a few disciples in 2017 and 2018 so far “we have been running a Motorkhana special which Rhys has been doing events in Vic and SA in, combined with a few other projects on the go but I have been missing proper racing and after watching at Sandown I started getting itchy feet again”.

The Howell’s will run the familiar MG ZR Judd which was originally built by MG Sport and Racing in the UK where it was campaigned by various factory drivers including BTCC driver Anthony Reid and Fiona Leggate before Howell purchased car in 2013.  Since then the car has had lots of love to develop it into the fastest ZR in the world.  Heading to round 2 Howell is excited to get back.

“We tried to get to Round 1 but with work it just didn’t happen, a few things fell our way and we will be at Phillip Island and see how we go, it would be great to do the full season from now” Howell commented.  One of the worst kept secrets in MG Racing is Howell’s ambition to run in the Open V8 class, Howell confirming plans are well under way to step up. “We have had a program under way for a long time, but I don’t do things half baked, and when the time is right we will step up.  I have been out of the seat for over 12 months now, and I need to just get back behind the wheel and find my groove again and we will take steps from there”.

The Admarco / Bendigo Innovative Kitchens MG ZR will be sure to be a top 5 contender at Phillip Island.
