Glen Wood lands Bathurst 12 Hour Ride

2015 Champion Glen Wood heads to his second Bathurst 12 hour with an all new vehicle at his disposal.

As part of an expanded M Motorsport program for 2017, Glen joins team owner Justin McMillan in a brand new KTM X-Bow GT4 in the FIA GT4 class of the Bathurst 12 Hour. The team took delivery in December of their first X Bow, with another set to join the team in the coming months.  The car is built by German motorsport team Reiter Engineering and the car is built for the global GT4 regulations alongside Porsche, BMW, Aston Martin and more.

The KTM is powered by a 2.0 Litre Turbocharged Audi 4 cylinder engine with about 250kw of power, the car weighs 1000kg on its own. M Motorsport will field a single KTM at Bathurst with 4x drivers, Owner Justin McMillan and regular Glen Wood while Reiter factory drivers Tomas Enge and Reinhard Kofler will fly out to join the team for the event, the car will then compete in the Australian Endurance Championship with M Motorsport during 2017.

Wood commented that the car “is a lot of fun, it handles well and hooks up around the corners” but admitted compared to the Lamborghini he ran last year is not quite as good. “It is about half the horsepower of the Lambo so it feels a bit slow in a straight line, but GT4 is about a much more even playing field and at Bathurst it will be good going up against the European teams”.

The team will go up against established GT4 teams from Europe including ProSport’s Porsche Cayman GT4’s and factory Aston Martin driver Darren Turner in the 2017 Aston Martin GT8.
