Winton FoS Email from Phil Chester

Hi everyone,

Not long now until we are back on track at Winton for The Festival of Speed. Please find attached a few summarised documents for those of you running at the event and for anyone who might want to pop along and have a look. Unfortunately following last weekend we have lost three entries, but still have quite a good grid.

I have attached for your information:

·         Friday Night Spit Roast Information – we have about 65 people attending our Friday Night get together. This is sure to be a great opportunity to catch up before the weekend. On the night, if anyone is struggling to find the location, please feel free to give me a call on 0417 386 883.

·         Event Entry List for MG & Invited.

·         Track Schedule British – the VHRR is aware that the MG Sunday morning race immediately follows the Sa/Sb race. They will have a solution for us by the weekend. In this regard, can I please make a request. Particularly for our Sunday afternoon long race (12 laps), this is at 2.35pm, with one race in between the Group S Feature race and the MG race. For those of you cross-entered, it would be great this year to have you also compete in both races

We are again garaged in the S Garages in the Support Paddock. Your names will be displayed on the garages for your arrival.

For those of you like me, who love reading supp regs (not J), here is some pertinent info:

We can gain access to the track for set up from 3pm Thursday

Scrutineering: Whilst MG’s are listed for scrutineering at 8.00am on Saturday morning at the top bays, it would be prudent for anyone practicing on the Friday (or simply arriving in time on Friday), to attend scrutineering on Friday. The VHRR are kindly making scrutineering available to us between 3pm and 4.30pm on Friday. This will save the rush on Saturday morning and also save us potentially queuing down the hill as occurred a few years ago.

Document Check is between 1pm and 5pm on Friday and also 7am on Saturday

Drivers Briefing is at 12 noon on Saturday in the Drivers’ Briefing Room

This is sure to be a great event and great weekend. Let’s see which State can come away with the State of Origin Trophy and which 4 Cylinder B takes home the Wolfchester Abingdon Cup.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions at all or would like more info on the event.

With kind regards

Phil Chester
