2023 season kicked off with a 28 car field and a fantastic weekend of motorsport. Bennett Signs came on board as the trophy sponsor for the event and star entries were missing including the expected return of Phil Chester in his GT V8 (above) which has been delayed until Round 2.
Robin Bailey was the star V8 MG but we saw Michael Roddy in his Jaguar XJS, Trevor Lindsay in his Triumph from SA along with Trevor Dunford (MG F), John Illingworth (MG ZS) and Rodney Gibb (MG ZT V8) while 2022 champion Mike Trathen returned for another season.
Robin Bailey had a tough opening round suffering issues with his fuel pump and electrical gremlins that took him out while Mike Roddy had a fantastic run until a small distributor issue ended his final race of the weekend. Danny Ciarma was the star taking a podium in the final race while Trevor Lindsay raced his way to the win.
