Calder is go!

Calder Park will return to Motorsport Australia competition with the Vic State Circuit Racing Championship 15 years since the last state round was conducted at the venue.

A lot of time has past since the Bob Jane run circuit was last used and significant investment has been put into the venue by Rodney Jane and his track team.   MG Racing got a first eye view prior to the round and a tour of the upgrades which are a great sign for the future commented Captain Paul Vernall

“The track has had significant investment, there is updated tyre bundles, a new sand trap on the inside of turn 1 and the end of the back straight, there is a new much tighter chicane on the back straight which has been backfilled and new lines and circuit edging amongst a raft of updates.  While it’s not new, and the surface is quite old it’s a great sign and the track should be commended” commented Paul.

The circuit will conduct its first major race meeting with the VSRS with the plan to run many further events including a regular fixture of the VSRS from 2024 onwards.
