Sandown Historic will feature a big field of MG V8’s, headlined by the season protagonists Glen Wood in the Wolfchester MG C V8 and Richard Milligan in his MG B V8 Roadster. Both have battled all year long and the pair will mount up to decide on the 2015 MG Road Racing Championship.
Joining the pair after sporadic appearances will be Robin Bailey in his MG B GT V8, Bailey having had early season dramas bounced back at Round 4 to have pace setting speed, business commitments held him from Winton but reliability is coming back. Bailey will be on the ball no doubt.
Rob Whitwell has missed all season, his last outing at Sandown last year saw engine dramas curtail his return, he will be hoping to make amends and challenge for a podium result amid the quality of the front runners this season.
After 12 months and the heartbreak Glen Taylor returns from New South Wales, the Peter Bennett owned B GT V8 nudged the outright lap record in 2014 in a heatwave and very much unfinished business for them this year.
Mark Bonnamy in the ex McDowell MG Workshops MG B GT V8 will be hoping for some better luck, recent issues have plagued his appearances and after nearly 2 years since his last outing will be looking to get the yellow beast back where it should be.
Non outright V8’s to also join the grid include Anthony Richardson’s MG B GT V8 and Michael Wood’s MG B GT V8, the latter a Group S log booked car.
If you like your V8’s then get your backside trackside at Sandown Historic!
