The Peter Lee Memorial race is always the first round of the season in conjunction with the MGCC run event at Sandown, the trophy commemorates Peter Lee and his involvement in MG Racing, and is awarded to the first 4 cylinder MG B regardless of class in the trophy race.
For 2020 that was Sunday mornings feature race and a battle went down to the wire, David Anderson in the #666 MG B took the win ahead of Richard Vollebregt and Henk Zwartaveen. David commented “it’s really good, I won it in 2018, and last year had engine failure so couldn’t fight and it was great for Richard to win it last year anyway but this year it’s a really good result, it was Richard or me and its good to have a hard fight. Gary Bulmer was in there, Henk and Darren aren’t far away so its been really good and it’s great to see such a tough battle for the win”
Anderson also commented that he had to thank Richards mum for a helping hand ” i think i have to thank Jane, I got by and she had to take the corner and Richard had to wait so ill take that!”
